Shaun’s Beer Journey

Shaun recently blew through a copy of “Brewed Awakening” by Joshua Bernstein, a biography of the fast-growing [and completely awesome] craft beer revolution. The book came highly recommended by Serious Eats and Gilt Taste as a beer book for people who already know a little about beer but want to know more. It served its purpose well.

I often noticed him scribbling down notes in a notebook while he was reading. Weird habit for pleasure reading. Turns out, Shaun was compiling a top-ten “Must Try” list of beers that Bernstein recommends as some of the best.

Thanks to trips to some awesome beer towns and great local beer spots in Charlottesville, Shaun is actually finding opportunities to sample some of these extremely rare beers. We thought that warranted a feature on the blog, no? So, without further adieu, join Shaun on his Ultimate Beer Journey. How many times have I said “beer” so far in this post?

You’ll find the list of these beers below, and as he checks them off, he’ll do a bit of guest-writing on his experiences. As of today [2/14/12], I’ve already written on one, and Shaun has tried the second… stay tuned for his post and keep checking back for updates and check-offs.
