Happy MPRE/Anniversary to Us.

[Good morning! As you read this, third-year law students across the country are en route to the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam. We’re all as excited as you are, too. Cross your fingers and hope we don’t have to make this trip again in March…]

Neither I nor Shaun is really like Gloria on Modern Family, who takes down every date and makes it an anniversary for her and Jay [great Season 2 episode, check it out]. Yesterday, when TheKnot.com sent us our “NINE MONTHS TO GO!” reminder e-mail re: our wedding, we were both sort of like, “Oops… forgot about that thing.” We really did forget, P.S.

Needless to say, we didn’t consider marking down on a calendar in 2009 what our “anniversary” should be. To pick a date, we actually just went through iCal and elimitated (1) the day we met [too soon]; (2) all law school parties [not really celebration-worthy]; (3) all concerts at The Southern/Jefferson [too many to count in those first few weeks]; (4) all dates at Bodos [happened/happens too often]; and settled on the day we had our first “real” date: the night we got dressed up and went to Orzo, where my old roommate used to work, and had a really nice dinner and really nice wine. Thus, our “anniversary” was born.

So, that was November 6, 2009. Since most of Charlottesville, including the restaurant at which we wanted to celebrate, is closed on Sundays, and we have schoolwork and a law school party, we decided to do the celebrating today, November 5th. Only fitting since we’ll be finishing the MPRE.

Here’s the anniversary agenda. No blog post today, and certainly no camera at Tavola, unless I sneak some phone photos.

trekkin' to richmond.

2 hours and 5 minutes of multiple choice.

timing ourselves on our first full sprint triathlon on campus.

EATING THE BEST MEAL, EVER.

crossing this feat off of our bucket list.

Happy anniversary/Saturday/end of the MPRE/November 5/4 days until election day/whatever makes you happy today.
