Practice Run

Grady had his penultimate puppy training class tonight. It was held outside because a kid pulled the pin out of a fire extinguisher in Petco and there was foam everywhere. Score. Jessica set up a course and each puppy took a practice exam.

Outdoor lessons.

Believe it or not, the monster did well. He passed, and apparently was the only puppy to do so! Clearly, it’s questionable whether he’ll be able to do it on his real exam next week, but I was impressed nonetheless.

Almost all happy faces.

He failed […lightning-bolted?] at “leave it” [they have to walk by a pile of treats without touching it] and “cruise control” [walking on a loose-leash without tugging], but otherwise, all happy faces [“Okay look, I know you got a crocodile in spelling, but this has gone too far.”].

Afterwards, we decided to stick around for a bit and get him groomed.

Sitting pretty for the groomer.

Who knew he had white fur? While we waited for them to get our bill ready, Grady got acquainted with himself in the “How do I look?” mirror. Although, he didn’t realize it was his own reflection. Yes, I realize this video is sideways [why won’t WordPress let you rotate videos? help], but I think you can still get the gist.

Maybe it’s because he was so clean?

This weekend will be nuts. Parents in town, C&O dinner, football game, breweries and wineries, and a polo match, oh, and the vegetarian festival. Can’t wait.
