We Made It!

Greetings from Virginia Beach! One of the blessings of our Bernese is he enjoys the car.

This is not my carsick look.

We put the seats down in the back and he has full roam with no risk of falling onto the floor.

Taking in the view.

He’s not quite tall enough to stick his head out the window – but he’s learning!

New yard!

Grady made it to Virginia Beach and immediately settled in to play his new yard.

HUGE.

He met a playmate – a stray Great Pyrenees – this dude had quite the bark and came up to my chest. We hope he found his way home!

I'll walk myself, thank you.

We enjoyed a delicious grilled dinner with champagne – to celebrate!

Birthdays and engagements.

The future in-laws brought us some wine from their recent trip to Napa & Tahoe – something to bring back to C’Ville!

West coast vino.

A 2008 Chardonnay [my favorite vintage] and a blend with Syrah [one of my favorite grapes]. I really enjoy the earthy, spicy flavor that Syrah adds to any wine, and there’s something about the buttery, creamy texture of an ’08 chardonnay that trumps the citrusy ’09s and ’10s. And no, I am not a wine snob. I just do my research.*

Today’s a pretty ugly, rainy day in Hampton Roads, but we’re thinking of heading out to the waterfront anyway for some brunch!

* Research = wine tastings.
